Can anyone here tell me what pin is HOT in regards to the balanced inputs/otputs on a BP26 preamp? Also on the 7b sst2?
 Thanks

Pin 1 = Ground/Shield
Pin 2 = Hot (+ve)
Pin 3 = Cold (-ve)

Thanks for the quick response.   Now I can configure my new Esoteric K-03 properly and decide if I like balanced or unbalanced.

If it's a XLR balanced cable, then:

Pin 1 is Shield & Chassis but not Audio Ground.
Pin 2 is signal Plus.
Pin 3 is signal Minus.
