My best friend was diagnosed with SCLC in July 2017. She endured 5 mouths of platinum based chemo. She was treated Friday, Saturday, and Sunday every three weeks for 5 months while at the same time she maintained her 40 hour job at a major bank. She then had radiation treatments for six weeks on the lung area. In July of 2018 she began to have headaches and mobility issues and a MRI showed a large lesion in her brain next to her brain stem. So two more weeks of radiation and hair loss again. August 2018 she began immunotherapy at $89,000 per treatment. She had 5 and her insurance is great and her company is very supportive. First week of December 2018 her oncologist told her maybe 3 months without further treatment and declined any further treatment. She is still with us today. Small Cell Lung Cancer is terminal. My best friend is my wife.
