Hello all,
I got a Hi Diamond HID usb cable thrown in with a used M2Tech Young DAC a few years back. I had no idea how it compared with any other usb cables, or how much difference they make. A few days ago, Amazon had a warehouse clearance Audioquest Cinnamon USB, so I bought it.
I've run it for about 8 hours. The Hi Diamond is way better. More of everything, and more refined. With the Cinnamon, the output level drops, dynamics reduce and, well everything is a bit worse. Above all it gave me a headache.
I generally find AQ cables terrific, and the rest of my system runs with them, having tried endless alternatives, but I guess the Hi Diamond is exceptional.
Has anyone else tried this brand?
They make a more expensive USB, I think it's called reference. Anyone have this?

maybe buy some higher end aq hdmi cables on amazon and return it within 30 days if you don't like'm.

It seems a rare cable. The final difference between it and the AQ Cinnamon was very big when I had a final comparison before returning the AQ. I wanted to make sure it had a chance to run for many hours in case it would improve, but the AQ was gaining more brightness and glare with time. The HiDiamond is actually brighter (more extended at all frequencies), but has no glare at all, very clean.
I will hold on to it for now in the knowledge that it is a very good performer.

Try the AQ Carbon. No brightness in 2 of my systems but usb cables can sound different in different systems.
