Well, near Detroit anyway. I spent my life with my audiophile dad, who imparted a love of fine audio-reproducing equipment. He went through the paces of tech-catchup, starting with reel-to-reel players, vinyl, tape, CD, MD, and finally (reluctantly) digital. He worked for Zenith a decent spell, so we always got to try out new gadgets like laser disk players, camcorders, etc.
With all of these inputs, he only ever went through 2 pairs of stereo speakers. The first pair, which I know nothing about, and the second pair...VMPS Tower IIs (I think). He also had a sweet Heathkit AA-1800 power amplifier we built together, which is sadly gone now.
The speakers (and replacement power amps) are now in my possession. I rather hastily removed them from their past home where they convalesced for about 20 years, and am attempting to get them running. As such, I paid no attention to how they were hooked up and I fear I'm a little out of my depth.
