RM200 questions
« on: 26 Aug 2009, 05:50 pm »
I am CONSIDERING purchasing an RM200 tube amplifier.  I only run a single balanced source and the RM200 has balanced inputs only.  My source does NOT have variable outputs so I would like to skip the preamp stage by adding something internal to the RM200 if possible.  Any idea if something like this can be done???  Is there enough space INSIDE the chassis???

Also there is a beautiful triode wired unit on AudiogoN ... what differences in sound quality can be expected between a triode and pentode model of the RM200???  My speakers would do fine with the 30w output.

thx

Jeff

I have the RM200 with the balanced inputs, but I am pretty sure the RM-200 is also available with single ended inputs.

I've seen the insides of other MR amps and there is enough room inside those.  Most of the guts are point-to-point leaving enough voids to mount a pot (this is what you're asking, right?).

yes ... was asking about adding a volume pot to the RM200 ... I have never seen the interior so I had no idea about the space.  Any draw back to adding a pot to the RM200???

thx
