BP-25 without power supply: options?
« on: 13 Feb 2024, 09:44 pm »
Hello James—

I've acquired a BP-25 preamp (ser. no. 252637), but it does not have a power supply.
The fellow from whom I acquired it said the power supply was lost long ago.

What are my options, if any, to get this preamp going?

I'm thinking it should first be checked out by a Bryston technician because I have no idea of its condition inside the case.

And of course it would also need, at a minimum, a new external power supply. Not sure if the current PS-3 would fit the bill as the BP-25 was discontinued long ago.

Thank you for considering my enquiry.

Sincerely,

Joel T. (Toronto M6P 4H3)

Hi Joel - I think a PS3 would be fine but email Mike on this.

That would mean you would pay more for the power supply...

Not that I'm looking to take a PS sale away from Bryston but you can purchase a BP25 with PS and remote on Canuckaudiomart for basically the same price as a new PS from a Bryston retailer...
