Mark wanted a pair of SS 9.5's.  Working with him, we decided to use a spectacular batch of monkeypod veneer, making it darker by adding dark walnut dye and burst edges.

You can't see it in the photos, but this veneer has a good deal of chatoyance (sparkle) when the light hits the cabinets.  It is like nice mahogany or koa in that regard.

Here are some photos...

And a close-up...

Happy listening, Mark!

Mark,

I don't know you.  But I KNOW you are going to be thrilled.  I was visiting Jim and Mary yesterday to see how my project was coming along (same batch of monkeypod...)

Saw these.  These pictures are good, but in person they are one of the pairs over the years that have made me go "wow".

They say "look at me" YET they are very classy looking and timeless.  One of my favorite pairs that I have seen.

Something about this batch of veneer Jim has that really, really worked on the lines of the SS 9.5. Yes, the sparkle is there also.

Congrats!

Anyone else having this issue.  They show up fine in all of my browsers.

The photos display in my Chrome, Firefox, Opera and Safari browsers.

How did the edges get busted?  ;)

I cannot see the images.  I viewed the source code and tried to copy and paste the URL into Chrome, but ended up with a black screen.  Also, I notices that you are using HTTP instead of HTTPS.

I think I know what the issue is, but am trying to find a way around it. Does it work now?

Image is loading just fine, and that's a stunning veneer match. The artistry behind the speaker cabinets @ salk never fail to impress!

That is a damn fine looking speaker.  Have you done many in Monkeypod?  Does it look best with a dye?

Monkeypod is much like mahogany.  It looks great natural and in almost any color as well.  We've don it natural, with orange dye and with walnut dye to date.
