The LE8 was a classic, extremely good within its intended design remit of useable output to about 10KHz & with a well-behaved roll-off; it's down about 12dB by 20KHz so will benefit from partnering with a supertweeter. As for comparison to the Visaton B200, other than approximate size they are rather different, the B200 being a higher Q unit intended for OB and sealed box variations. The JBL has somewhat better off-axis performance due largely to its cone profile. The B200 has a higher nominal sensitivity, but not by as much as claimed, since they typically measure a good few dB down on what the data sheet implies, usually coming in around 91dB as I recall. The big AlNiCo motor is decent too, i.e it's well designed, as you would expect from JBL, but which is not always the case elsewhere -far too often AlNiCo, Neodymium etc. are employed for marketing reasons without any actual performance benefits over a decent ferrite (and there are lots of different grades of all magnet materials).
Be that as it may, it's still an excellent unit of its type, and it wasn't around for years without good reason, but since it's now considered a classic, you pay through the eyes and nose.
