The Austin Audio Society will meet at my house on Saturday, August 25th, at 11:00 AM. The meeting topic is "MQA - Can you hear the difference?". We'll listen to several CD quality tracks on the Tidal streaming service, each followed by the same track with MQA encoding. We'll also explore the availability of everybody's favorite music on Tidal - attendees will name an artist or a composer and we'll see what's available. https://www.facebook.com/events/2645675218791382/

As usual cold craft beer and hot snacks will be provided to enhance the listening experience.

We'll also consider the differences in recordings of the same material. This is especially useful for classical music, where there are many recordings of the same work by different artists.  It becomes apparent that some performances and some recordings are better than others. We'll compare three versions of the same track from Handel's organ concertos.
