can that apply to speakers cabinet or basket?i found a roll of dynamat from my car audio day.Thanks

That stuff was designed to dampen metal panels of a car. However, it will have some good effectiveness on wood as well. It is a bit like lining your cabinets with vinyl floor tiles. There is positive effect.

Metal frames do tend to ring pretty badly at certain frequencies. That is why I really like the poly frames. Adding a few small strips of the Dynamat to some frames might really help.

I've used the Parts Express version on stamped metal driver frames to dampen ringing.  Like Danny, I prefer the poly frames.  Also cast metal frames like on some high end drivers, are fine.  Thump a stamped metal frame and you can hear/feel the vibes. :nono:
