ldr3 v2.1 pass preamp ldr hs ?
« on: 10 Mar 2019, 06:03 pm »
Hello,
and sorry for my very basic English.
I have a passive preamp diy ldr3x v2.1 balanced configuration.
since a few weeks, I lose the calibration.
if I listen to an evening for example, it's ok and the next day when I turn on the preamp I have no sound on one side or very weak ... and it's difficult to make a calibration that works .
when it works I have breath on a speaker.
Do you think I have one or more ldr hs?

ps: I flash with the latest firmware .... but the same.

I suspect you have at least one bad LDR that needs replacing. During the calibration process I suspect there's one LDR that takes longer than the rest to finish cal. I'd replace that LDR first. Since you have balanced boards I'd calibrate each individually in order to better identity which LDR on which board needs replacing. More info on diagnosing/identifying a bad LDR can be found on our website via this link:  https://www.tortugaaudio.com/support/product-documentation/?section=ldr-replacement-instructions

i read it.
but i don't find how calibrate the master preamp....and the slave preamp.
the calibration is for two preamp in the same time.
I can also test by positioning each card in master? or in single mode?
so, i can change two ldr....

Yes, by making each board a master (pull the Slave jumper on the slave board and disconnect the serial link cable between the 2 boards) and moving the display cable temporarily to the slave board you can run a more detailed cal on each board by itself. This should better help you identify which LDR on which board is the problem.
