These DEMO amps were used for evaluating the MK2 version in systems, but they are in great condition (some minor scratches or dents, black faceplate).  ---- The results were phenomenal both on the bench and in the listening room.

What are the sonic/performance benefits of having double rail capacitors?

More rail capacitors in parallel means lower impedance from the power supply to “feed” the amplifier and less voltage ripple on the rail.  Although the MEGAschino has great PSRR (power supply rejection ratio), lower ripple means slightly lower distortion on the output.  This also translates into higher power output at the extremes, but that’s steady state on the bench. What matters is how the amp handles music. Sonically, the higher capacitance results in more “slam” for transient delivery and an overall more refined sound. It’s one of those things that are measureable, but what you hear as a result is hard to quantify. I typically use the extra capacitance for demos because the difference is significant!  With the MEGA MONOs, you can even QUADRUPLE the rail capacitance, and I do that as well.  Thanks.
