Danny, have you tried mtm-ing the mini? Or, have you tried having the neo 10 above the 3 and on higher stands so the tweeter was at ear height? This may raise the sound stage to super 7 height.

Rocket Ronny

It would cause too much of an impedance mismatch.

Does anyone know if the neo 10 is using it’s natural roll off, or is that done by the cross over? Will driving the 10 without a bass roll off hurt the driver?

Rocket Ronny

It doesn't hurt them at all. But if playing them at high volumes a filter will minimize the movement of the diaphragm, or remove the force form it that is trying to move it.

Does anyone know why the mini baffle wings are used on the inside verses the outside? My natural placement would be on the outside to allow the sound to breath in the middle, unless the wing baffle is needed to separate the low mids. My guess is it’s for aesthetics, but has anyone compared both?

Rocket Ronny

With the wing to the inside it will help minimize congestion in the center of the sound stage that might reflect from the front wall. It also helps keep the size of the sound stage open and larger.

I'm thinking it depends on placement. When I move ours way out into the room we are surrounded by sound but some of the center image is lost.

Are the Super Mini baffles available for purchase?  I've been holing onto a pair of Neo3s and Neo10s for a long time, would like to try this out and go active.

Hi..great review and speakers.....a question about the drivers alignement, Super Mini and Super 7s....I see that in both designs using same drivers, but the Super 7 it seems that the membrane tweeter is behind (one inch?) from the mids, when in the Mini's they are..any specific reason? Thank's

Great read all over again thanks.

Looks like Super Mini separation  is 1-1/2", top of 10" to bottom of Neo 3.

My question is the front distance between them, not vertical....in the Mini it seems they are in the same plane, and in the Super 7, the tweeter Neo3 is in a plane behind the mids Neo10

The are on the same plane, the waveguide sticks out in front of the neo3
