OB driver placement question
« on: 18 Sep 2023, 02:51 am »
HI folks:  O bought a pair of the Betsy PB speakers, the 8" drivers.  I noticed that the drives are mounted on the baffle, but there are versions where the driver is mounted from behind, leaving a bevel on the front of the baffle.  Question I have:  will the sound be any different depending on the driver mount?  Thank you

  • To whom more was given more will be required.
    • Never go to a psychiatrist, adopt a straycat or dog. On the street they live only two years average.

Yes. The dispersion pattern will be different, slightly less dispersion,
it would impact the sound stage the listener perceives.

Not a Betsy PB speaker (whatever that is), looks like a Lii Audio driver.

Why don't you ask Caintuck Audio if there is any difference?
Thin baffles front mount, thick baffles rear mount.
Nothing to worry about with larger wideband drivers IMO
