ACI 65HZ 85HZ Crossovers
« on: 9 Jan 2008, 06:10 pm »
This may be a dumb question but are the ACI crossovers (the 85HZ) for example down 12DB at 85HZ or begin a 12DB slope at 85HZ?

Thanks

85 or 65 is where it begins

They are approx. -3db at the "knee" frequencies of 65 or 85. The rate is 6db/oct., (first order).

Thanks Mike.

So if the 85's are 3db down at 85, where do I set the Force (in general, I know it is room dependent). Does the Force, when set at 85 start it's 12db roll off (I think I have it right this time) or is it plus some number at 85?

By the way, additional indexing on the Force XL cross over knobs would help  :D

What I hear using warble tone sweeps (takes the room effect out in theory) is a slight hole right at the theoretical cross over point 85HZ.

As long as I get to pick your brain a bit, knowing that I am having difficulty loading the room from 3 bass points, are the 65's or 85's a better choice?

If anyone out there has not heard the bass these Sapphires are capable of - you need to. It is hard to explain.

Thanks
