The latest update is that the new ADSP21569 dspBlok and firmware that make the system full production are targeting AXPONA 2024 for release.  The EA dspNexus 2x8 customers will receive this new dspBlok and firmware to make their systems full production units.

At the same time, the upgrade AKM AK4499EX DAC's will be available for purchase as either an upgrade to existing EA dspNexus 2x8 or purchase as a new unit.  The cost for the system is now:

Standard dspNexus 2x8 with AKM AK4493 DAC's is $3000.00 + shipping.

Upgraded dspNexus 2x8 with AKM AK4499EX DAC's is $4000.00 + shipping.

Upgrade a dspNexus 2x8 from AKM AK4493 to AK4499EX is $1500.00 + shipping.

Latest update is that the porting of Audio Weaver to the ADSP21569 dspBlok is progressing and just about to go to in-house testing. 

The I/O interfaces have been working for sometime and now the processing software is getting ported.

Will be demoing an EA dspNexus 2x8 with AKM AK4499EX DAC's this weekend so that upgrade is available for these units.

The ADSP21569 dspBlok production run is complete and the firmware is in testing.  Waiting to hear about beta testing the new board.

The upgrade AKM AK4499EX DAC boards are installed for checks here and will be listening. 

A tip for the AKM AK4493S and AK4499EX DAC's boards have new filter selections in the Audio Weaver code. 

Customer testing in their systems and mine have lead to the selection of filter 4 for the AK4493S DAC's.  This will be the new default setting in the block diagrams for customers block diagrams.

The new AK4499EX DAC boards have filter 4 and a new filter 5 selection.  The filter 5 is in the same family of the filter 4, but from listening is an improvement for that DAC board.

The beginning of a new era.

The Danville Signal production ADSP21569 dspBlok has arrived with the firmware for Alpha testing in the dspNexus 2x8.  Will be installing it soon in my EA dspNexus with the AK4499EX DAC's.

Once the firmware is checked out, then full production dspNexus systems will be released for purchase.

From testing, the largest Audio Weaver crossover I have worked with to date went from 91% to 50% throughput.  A 1.82:1 speedup.  This includes the overhead needed for running all the dspNexus 2x8 controls.

Have not tried the FIR side processor that runs in parallel to the normal DSP processing in the ADSP21569, but the number of taps available with the external memory should be interesting for trials.

Will be trying the firmware flash process for my block diagram to verify operation.

The alpha testing has gone well so a few beta test units are going out for trials to other EA owners. 

If this goes well, then the EA unit owners will be getting their upgrades.  The full production dspNexus 2x8 units will be available for purchase as well.

I am using a 4 channel 300B amp in which the crossover functions needed for my speakers are done line level between tube gain stages.

I require a high quality full range output to feed mid/tweeter amp and one with DSP to do woofer and bass management.

Is this 2x4 unit in production with latest DSP and 4499 DACs? What is the price?

The unit available once the ADSP21569 DSP version is released is the dspNexus 2x8 with 8 output channels.  This can have the upgrade AK4499EX DAC's.  The cost is $4000.00 + shipping.

The 2x4 channel version has not been produced at this time.
