Just made it down to Tampa to attend the FLEX show this weekend.

Just going to walk around and give a listen to systems and catchup with friends. :)

They sounded very good in the demo room as active speakers with a short demo.  Better than many others I heard.

Are those Apogees in that second to last pic, or some copycat ribbon speakers?

Clarisys Audio Ribbons.  Looks like multiway full range ribbons.

Copycat is too derogatory. Think of them as Apogee reborn, new and improved. Florian was an Apogee enthusiast from the early days.  Clarisys Audio speakers have been winning top remarks at shows for a couple of years. This site also supplies Apogee restoration parts.

FLEX Day #2.

Caught up with Pez today in the Hapa Audio room 309.  Single driver full range speakers by Charney Audio and tube amps by ToolShed Audio.

Always fun to catch up with AC members and see what is happening!

AJ's room with the planar line arrays looks interesting.  Any info on them?

The are called the Titan Line Arrays.

They have 8 of the GRS Slim mid-tweeter planars with 12x12in OB woofers per side with cardioid bass.  Fully active DSP/Class D system internal to the speakers.

More info is on his website.  They are the prototype pair for the show.

Any notable budget products?

The least expensive products were probably in the headphone rooms on the top floors.  I was not really looking for any new headphones.

Only headphones I listened to were the Audeze LCD-MX5's and they are not budget headphones.   They are the next step up from my Audeze LCD-MX4's, and not that large a change in a short demo.

The ELAC room was probably the most budget room and sounded good.  Did not spend much time as I am not a box speaker person.

On the way home from FLEX2024.

Happy to meetup with lots of friends along the way!  :D

Two different mfg from MD had demo rooms at the show, Border Patrol and Black Ice Audio.

Trip is 1029 miles from FL to MD in my Model Y Long Range.  :o
