Which way round?
« on: 19 Dec 2019, 12:15 pm »
I have a new room that is about 18ft long and 10ft wide. Using the clap test, one end is dead and the other end has a bit of an echo. Everything else being equal, should I place my open baffle speakers at the dead end or the end that echoes a bit? Bare in mind I will be sitting at the opposite end.

I would suggest the dead end.

It would be inexpensive to treat a slap echo with some absorbers.

Sigfried Linkwitz had some recommendations regarding open baffle (dipole) speaker setup here: https://www.linkwitzlab.com/rooms.htm#B
