Terry Gilliam's 'The Man Who Killed Don Quixote'

If you thought Terry Gilliam's 'Brazil' was crazy, weird and wonderful then his latest film 'The Man Who Killed Don Quixote' should be on your must see list.

25 years in the making along with film disasters and lawsuits Terry never abandoned his dream and now the final film is slowly making it's US appearance in theaters. I watched it last night and was totally amazed throughout the over 2 hour running time. Jonathan Pryce is Don Quixote and Adam Driver is his reluctant squire Sancho Panza pulled into a surreal mystical adventure that blends real life, hallucinations, madness, and ultimately chivalry, honor and love. The visuals, as always in Gilliam's films, are colorful and over the top mind blowing. Rural Spain never looked so beautiful. The sound quality is state-of-the-art.

I love all of Terry Gilliam’s work! I didn’t even know about this until yesterday. Will definitely be seeing this.
 Thanks for speaking the word.

The DVD and Blu-ray are available on Amazon but they are Region B/2 so a region free player will be needed.
Amazon Prime may be streaming, a year ago they pulled out but Amazon might have changed their mind.

Wayne, Amazon is still offering the streaming version. You can only rent it as opposed to buying.

It's in my watch list!

Wasn't there an incomplete version of that some 25 years ago or more?

There was a documentary IIRC about the failed production.

I kind of hope he doesn't make another movie. Especially if reviews are favorable. This seems like the perfect metaphor of Gilliam's own career.

A computer running VLC will provide region-agnostic playback of DVDs or Blu-Rays; might be an option for some.
