With 2012 slowly coming to an end, what was your last CD, record, tape or music file purchase of the year?

Be well...

Aside from the 50 new LPs i bought before Christmas..
The past two days i went out and bought in new vinyl:
Spoon: Kill the Moonlight
Bright Eyes: Lifted.... etc
Arcade Fire: Suburbs
Coldplay: Viva La Vida
M.I.A.:Kala
LCD Soundsystem: Sound of Silver
My Morning Jacket: Z
The Shins: Oh Inverted World
Fleet Foxes: Fleet Foxes
And two used CDs
Antony and the Johnsons: I am a Bird Now
Vampire Weekend: Vampire Weekend

So I am set for the New Year Holiday. I had kind of ignored the music of the 2000's so I wanted to catch up a little.

A boxed set of Elton John's first 5 albums for my wife.
Amazon shows it being delivered on 12/15 but nobody here ever saw it.

At the moment, it's Andy Williams first Christmas Album "The Andy Williams Christmas Album", released in 1963.

My little brother (he's 42 and has a Master's in Trombone performance from North Texas State) says that musicians play better today than in the past.

I disagree.   Today, instruments are MUCH better, but musician ability, I don't think is.

Jefferson Airplane  Flight Log--an anthology from the first ten years recently released on cd.

Max Raabe & The Palast Orchester--The Best of Vol 2.  If you never heard of Max Raabe and like early big band/jazz with a different style-- this music is from the days of Weimer Republic Germany-- give this terrific band and great music a listen.  The website explains it a lot better than I ever could.

I've been a fan of this album for ~35 years.  It was certainly worth the $20.

I gave up buying music in 2011. Last year I lost all hope that "the industry" will ever again produce any decently engineered recordings.

BTW I have a mint BP-6 for sale, 17 years of warranty left. Reason - I'm downscaling to a boom box, which is more than adequate for reproducing the "quality" of contemporary records.

Gregg Allman - The Gregg Allman Tour (1974)

I won a mint copy of this on eBay last night for a ridiculously low price.
Last purchase of 2012, and one of my best scores of the year.
