Tubeworld has a pair of platinum matched Telefunken ECC802's with low hours on them for a mere $750.00 per pair  :o they also have a pair of platinum matched 1959 Amperex Holland ECC186/7316 D getters for $350.00  per pair which seems almost like a paltry sum in comparison

Bunky:

Both are great tubes...the funny thing is that the Telefunken was an industrial tube made for medical equipment as well as for radar and others that require accuracy and reliablility.  The byproduct was that it was one of the most neutral 12AU7's that also was very quiet and lasts forever!

Do you need to guess which I would be buying?

As one noted, there is no such thing as the best tube and it becomes a personal choice as each tube has their own strengths.

After listening to all the Amperex 7316. Though they vary in sound, I was exceptionally impressed. Then I took a very expensive gamble on a pair of CBS 7318 black plate square getter. That closed the debate. Simply the best on the planet.
