better late than never?
« on: 9 Apr 2011, 11:26 am »
I have always loved music but never came close to having any kind of audio system but now I've decided to build a system, entry level as it might be. Also, since I also love movies I thought I'd move to a 5.1. So with that said, I am still in need of two speakers to complete, but on a somewhat limited income. Currently I have:

Denon AVR-791
TSi 100 (2)
PSW110
CS10

Obviously you can see I have Polk speakers, because of accomodations through my employer. My question, if I stay with Polk would you think the TSi300/400s to complete this considering the limited funds?  Thanks for any input.

Hi and welcome,   8)

Sure, either the 300 or 400 looks good.  If your room isn't big or you don't play lots of loud bass, the 300 should be OK.  (And frankly I'd rather keep things a bit simplier, like the 300 seems to be.)  It's smart to keep with the same family of speakers, especially the same tweeters, to keep the same sound throughout.  And floorstanders would save you the cost of stands (and would be less "tippy" than standmounts around kids and pets).

Not much information on the Polk site.
