STA-100

Both the DDA-100 and the STA-100 look very interesting. If one only needs a digital integrated amp (i.e., while a headphone amp and analog inputs are nice, they are not necessary) has Nuforce indicated which of their other components they expect people to use with the STA-100? The HDP or Dac-100?

From the 6moons preview:

"Starting in June 2012 with the new Home Reference Series, five models will have trickled down by October to build a high-value bridge between the existing NuForce desktop kit and famous Reference gear. Top to bottom in the right rendering is the $1.095 DAC-100, the $695 100wpc STA-100 amp, the $695 HAP-100 headfi preamp with three RCA inputs and the $695 UDA-100 USB DAC. Not shown until lower on this page is the final member, the $549 DDA-100 direct digital amp (or power DAC in Wadia speak). On styling it and the STA-100 are the odd men out without the two-tone stripe down the middle (and the DDA-100 also gets a different volume knob without line marker). On review today are the first two arrivals from this new crop, the DA-100 and DDA-100."

Yes the STA-100's are now available and dealers are taking orders.

The HOME REFERENCE SERIES is quite exciting gear on a price/performance basis.

We will have some in operation and on display at The Home Entertainment Show (Newport Beach) May 31, June 1-2.

Yes, the Home Reference Series Preamp, is the HAP-100, and is a BIG performer at $595.

HERE

No phono section however since, at that price point, there are any number of outboard phono sections to use.

This unit is also shipping and we are taking orders.

And the STA-100 (just released) is the perfect match to the HAP-100

Question... can the STA-100 amp be bridged?  This would be with 8 ohm speakers.  I have two STA-100's in a passive bi-amp configuration at the moment and am just wondering if running the amps bridged as two mono amps would be possible or not?

Though I suspect being class-D amps, this wouldn't be possible.

The STA-100 cannot be bridged.

Your biamped config is likely as good, if not better, since bridging most amps doubles distortions, and makes them less stable.

Keep checking back for new developments in our amplifier models.   :green:
