New MWI Remotes NOW AVAILABLE!
« on: 7 Apr 2007, 06:44 pm »
We have just received the first 100 MWI custom remotes.  I have a limited number of PICs (programmable IC) that needs to be replaced in the unit for use with the new remote.  The chip fits in a 20-pin socket on the control board inside the unit.  The procedure to replace the PIC involves -FIRST UPLUGGING THE UNIT - remove the lid and then get a small flat blade screwdriver or other similar device to gently pry up the existing 20-pin IC and replace with the new PIC chip.  You need to note orientation and be carefula about static.  It is a simple process, but I wanted it to be clear that it does require replacement of this chip.

Please note that while the remote has a phase button, this only functions with the LS 36.5 as the SWL 9.0SE products don't have balanced outs or phase switching as an option.  The new remote ships standard with the LS 36.5 of course.

The cost for the new remote + PIC is $75 + shipping.  Please contact your local dealer to order.

Thanks,

Dan W.
