Reports on the Sirius NFL Channel are that the Bears are having difficulty finding a new offensive coordinator.  Apparently the problem is that Lovie Smith is viewed as a lame duck coach and the big names available for the job are concerned it will be a one year deal.  I think the problem is that the Bears gave away the farm for Cutler and it is going to take 2 or 3 years to rebuild the talent!

Could be that's all that's lacking for the Bears is an offensive coordinator. Cutler & the Bears had their moments where they actually looked like a football team last year. Like anything else, it's all about finding the right fit for the job. An overexcelling team is nothing new for the NFL, just takes the right guy pushing the right buttons.  :D

Da Bears also have an opening for a Defensive coordinator as well.    Lovie is a lame duck coach, unless the Bears get lucky and make the playoffs.    Lovie's defense has been embarrassing, just about every assistant has been fired( or contract not renewed) since his tenure in Chicago!

At some point the MISER owners have to pony up and say the coach can't get it done.

They will probably settle for a has been Mike Martz, due to the fact every other candidate has stiff armed them.

Lovie can't even tackle a good offensive coordinator for his team. :duh:

A good indicator of how bad it is with da Bears is that Hue Jackson canceled a scheduled interview after being offered the OC job with the RAIDERS!

Think about that; how bad does it have to be in Chicago for someone to not even bother with the interview after being offered a job with the Raiders? And I say that as a lifetime Raider fan.  :duh:

The Bears ownership has created an untenable situation.  The sad thing is for us long time Bear Fans is that this is nothing new.
The ownership should have fired everybody from the General Manager on down.  Peter Angelos, the GM cannot pick offensive talent if it came up and bit him in the ass.
Lovie Smith, is a Coach on a one year contract, which means at the same time 1) He is a lame duck
                                                                                                                                                            2) Does he really want an offensive OC to  have success which for all intents and purposes will be his replacement?
Lets add to this that the OL was pretty much Swiss Cheese, and it seems that the League has caught up to the Cover 2 Defense.

    Did I leave anything out?

                                                                                                                         Go Bears!
