And I cover baffle step loss and attempt to explain it in layman's terms.

It was a follow up to Ron Frequency Friday's video.

I'd give this youtube video a listen but that would mean I'd have to turn off your speakers. And I ain't doing that.   :green:

Another excellent and informative video Danny.  Is it correct that the baffle step correction required is not only impacted by the dimension of the baffle and driver, but by the drivers response as well or is it purely frequency and baffle width?

Best,
Ed

The baffle step loss will have a fixed or given loss of output based on the baffle width. But when taking it into account in the correction the response of the driver comes into play as well.

Excellent videos, Danny. I have a new appreciation for the speaker industry. It is amazing the factors that need to be considered and addressed to make a good sounding speaker. I guess all trades have that, as the running joke with my concrete business is, " just put up a couple of forms and pour in the middle. How tough can it be?" Keep 'em coming!

Yeah, the hands to the sides of the mouth really illustrated the problem with baffle reflections.  I suppose that's part of why it's so hard to make in-wall speakers sound good.

Well, a friend and former next door neighbor came home once to find his whole system neatly arranged on his front lawn- a case of theftus interruptus. His Large Advents would certainly have disappeared if he had been ten minutes later getting home.
