What's with all the claims of problems with Maggies?  Does someone have access to a hidden spread sheet of excessive warranty repairs?    After all these decades, why would a firm suddenly have problems with just one model?

I guess you did not actually read the thread.

Kind of stinks about the wiring issue but it'll work out all right.
They're the only speaker I've ever owned that has the "you are there" sound to them.
A massive step up from the 3.7s I currently own.

A $14K speaker DOA.

Would it kill Magnepan or any other highend audio manufacturer  to test each speaker prior to boxing and shipping? Aside from damage caused in transit, this should have never occurred.

Am I wrong here?

No Emil you are not wrong.
I would have been pissed off!

I do not own Magnepan's <I did own a pair back in the 70's> but from reading this Circle, people have toured the plant. Did they show or tell you that they test each spkr before they are shipped out to the customer?

You mean this one?

"I have read others also having issues with new 20.7s."

Kinda jumped out at me.

I cannot find the posts right now. Someone with new 20.7 had a strange problem, Seemed the low freq portion of crossover was connected to the mids panel and vice versa. Magnepan replaced the speakers. This was recently posted.
Naturally I was interested and remembered it. but what site???
The main point to me was Magnepan investigated it and sent a new replacement pair once the issue was verified (probably by the dealer, same as mine was investigated by the dealer techs.)

Great service, of course, but even one problem seems way out of line for MP.
