My babies ❤️
That's the ticket nothing in between the speakers, or at least if there is, it's low and below ear level.

Only location the subwoofer works in my room, so I'm stuck with a stupid box in the middle.

I am seeing a number of these systems with the speakers set up within a couple of feet from the frontwall.  Being dipolars should'nt these be set up in a similar manner to OBs, away from the frontwall about 4' or so?  If not, why are they different?

Thanks,
Ed

I agree, and one must read the owner's manual.

Mine says 2-3 feet out from the front wall.

Three feet works for me, but I suspect larger speakers require even more space, have read 5-9 feet!

Larger panels require larger rooms, so it makes sense ratio and proportion wise.

Here's my .7 setup, with Magna Riser Multi-Riser stands. The void between the shelving units will get a drawer storage cabinet, as soon as I can build one.

What are you driving those with?

My listening room! Magnepan 1.7i recently replaced my older 1.6QR. The dual Rythmik L12s are hidden behind the Maggies. Powered by my Cambridge Audio CXA80 which is connected to the CXN for streaming purposes.

Looking to create a new system at my temporary condo. I’m thinking .7, but not sure what to power them with. It’s a less dedicated room than this one.

Thanks for viewing!

How do your 1.7i's compare to the 1.6's?  What to do like about the 1.7i's?  I know that Magnepan removed the mid bass hump that the 1.6's have.  I own a pair of the 1.6's and have considered upgrading to the 1.7i's if I don't go in a complete different direction with a pair of Fyne Audio 702's or the new Monitor Audio 300 5G golds.  I have a friend that has a pair of 1.7's (not the i) with a pair of Rhythmik subs and his system sounds great.  I run my 1.6's with dual subs.

Thanks,

Larry

Not much to see. The 4 amplifiers are directly under the speakers on a shelf up against the ceiling in the basement. On the floor are 4 force cancelling subwoofers in a horizontal line array. They are of my own design and manufacture.  The 2001 Monoliths are modified Acoustat 2+2s. I replaced the original interface with my own adjustable high voltage bias supply and a Sowter ESL Transformer which is designed specifically for midrange and treble. It rolls off steeply at 40 Hz but I cross to the subwoofers at 125 Hz so it does not matter. Here is a picture. I put the CD there to give an idea of the size. You will notice the Kimber Cable coming through conduit in the floor. The big gold thing is a 250 watt 1 ohm resistor in series with the primary to keep The Parasound JC 1s from overheating. Driving the subwoofers are two QSC 3602 amps. Each woofer gets 2000 watts. The whole mess will do 115 dB continuously without a hiccup.

It's really great at electrocuting cats also. If you look on the floor in front of the speakers you see a row of plastic mats. They have high voltage wire grids so that anything that steps on them gets a pleasant a ZAP. Now I don't have to worry about another cat getting electrocuted and the cat won't be using my speakers for scratching posts. 8)
