Modwright SWL 9.0se and amp ouputs
« on: 24 Jan 2007, 06:28 pm »
I have a bit of a situation that I am sure has been come across by others but will ask anyway instead of searching (I am lazy).  I am thinking of going with some tube amps that I have recently fallen in love with (Consonance cyber 800's) while at the same time using a multi-channel amplifier for the HT thing.  I would rather not waste tube life on movies/TV watching and wonder if there are any issues with the following.

I would like to hook up the tube amps to the first amp output of the preamp and use the second output for the HT amp.  This would then just require me to power down one of the amps (depending on whether I am listening to music or watching a movie) and switching speaker cables at the mains.  Is this doable or are there other issues that will come into play?

Thanks,
Mike

That was a really silly question on my part.  I realized this evening that if I don't plan on sharing an amp for 2 channel and HT why would I bother to even run the HT amp through the Modwright.
