Hope this isn't a burned out topic. Looking for next upgrade for 2023.
Ive read Maggie xo mods just make a different sound or its like taking ear muffs off or Maggies sound great as long as the rig is good, their properly positioned and room treatments are correct.
My 1.7i s would be difficult to xo mod as Ive moded stands that are mounted over sox and screwed into their wood braces.  Dan Richie said I could leave old xo in, access from fuse panel and leave new xo external.
Has anyone done that?

I used to have 3.7i's and replacing the stock crossover with an upgraded external one was one of the best mods I did to it.  A lot more clarity and a much more dynamic sound. 

Not an easy mod as you have to partially remove the cloth sock and some elements of the factory xo but a worthwhile one.
