Triamp vs Biamp
« on: 21 Jan 2005, 06:28 am »
I bought a used Bryston 14B ST last Christmas (on impulse?) and it is sitting in the middle of the living room. I intend to triamp the PMC passive MB2/XBD's but haven't got to it yet.

My current setup is already very good, when sitting dead center, with 2 units of 14B ST's driving the PMC's.

I wanted to know how much better is triamping vs biamping? Does the speakers need to be repositioned again?

I was also advised to consider PMC MB2/XBD active speakers but I do not intend to spend any more on what I already have. And not having heard active speakers, I have no idea if this investment will be worth it.

Thanks for any advise.
