Concern about the Perpetual Technologies P3A
« on: 25 Jan 2006, 08:35 pm »
First, some praise:  Wow.  The P3A sounds -amazing- and was a huge step up in sound from my A/V Receiver's DAC.  Congratulations on producing a fantastic sounding product for an affordable price.

Second, a question / concern:

I am using optical spdif in from my computer.  When the song changes the optical input light flashes red and an audible clicking sound comes from the P3A.  I am assuming this just indicates that the signal has dropped, followed by the signal being picked back up.  I don't care about the noise, but it almost sounds like a click/switch that could break.  Is this the case?  Any problem with that switch happening every time a song changes?

Thanks!

EDIT:   No need to respond... Greg M. from av123.com responded to my thread on their forum.  He said it is normal, but to let him know if there are any issues.  Just thought I'd pass it on for the seach function of this site.
