Title: Anyone replace they're TVCs selector switch?
Post by: Martay50 on 5 Apr 2010, 10:41 pm
Hello everyone...
Just got my ref 4 TVC today but it arrived DOA due to a funky selector switch. Instead of sending it back to Nicholas, I'm considering replacing the switch myself with a higher quality unit. Anyone done this themselves? Which switch did you use? How easy was it? Any advice would be appreciated...

system:
Esoteric DV50s universal player
Promitheus ref 4 TVC
Aleph 2 clones mono amps made by Tim Rawson
Aerial 7B
DIY interconnects, power cables, Basis speaker cables

Yes, if you must have one then DACT 5x 4 at $125. Excellent switch. If you can use one input and switch when using another component my recco would be to eliminate it altogether. Less contacts, less wire, better sound.

...Hey thanx Charles/Rollo...
Checked out the switch and it looks like a high quality unit. Unfortunately, I have more than one source so I need the switch, otherwise I'd take your advice and eliminate it altogether for better sound. Looks like I won't have to replace it anyway...Nicholas has sent me a new ref 4 TVC. But, it's good to know a good source just in case...
cheers,
marty
