I too am VERY curious as to what all the upgrade provides and the cost. First I'd heard of it was in a recent thread. It'd possibly be something for me to plan for along with upgrading my Monos to Extremes -:)

I hate bothering him now for something that is at least a year off (upgrading the Monos to Extremes). And yeah, I definately am into vinyl (Merrill modified TT with a pair of very low output Denon MCs). The Tempest I have (4th QTR '03 vintage) does a great job already with my vinyl!

According to Klaus, he is still waiting for parts from Germany so the upgrade will be delayed for a few more weeks.

Just got a confirmation from Klaus and my NEW Tempest with full extreme mods (new SL board and bigger power supply) is on the way to my place.

My old Tempest needs a major overhauling job so Klaus said that it would be feasible to build me a new one instead. I can't tell you how much I continue to be impressed by the customer support that I have received from him.

How does the Tempest Extreme compare to the original?

I'm considering the upgrade but waiting for my bank account to grow and to see what others think of the Extreme.

I'm sure that my turntable will thank me for the upgrade.

i gots a standard tempest-no extreme

i dont play with big discs-

never owned any other pure preamps so i havent any opinion
