Some eyecandy - Cirrus and New Breeze pics
« on: 17 May 2013, 04:38 am »
So I was just editing some pictures tonight, working on giving the website a much needed freshening up and wanted to share these pictures here.

First is a Cirrus Black in Red Flame Boxelder with a hand buffed gloss finish

Next is a pair of Breeze with a very nice Fiddleback hard Maple.  Hard Maple like this is getting very difficult to find!

Enjoy!

That Red Flame Boxelder is both beautiful and unusual. I like how you extended it to include the baffle. :thumb:

Thank you for all the nice comments!  The Red Flame Boxelder pair is off for a review with The Stereo Times, then back to their owner here in St Louis.  The Fiddleback Maple Breeze is headed to their new owner in the Pittsburgh area.

I can't wait to get them back.  I should start carrying that picture around in my wallet like it was one of my kids.

Thanks Bryan, I think so too.  They were originally finished in Satin, but were re-done in Gloss and it suits them much better.

Both of these are super pretty. :thumb:  In my opinion you make the best looking monitors in the world!! (and sounding)
I am just cuious if you can do the front baffles veneered to match the sides on the new Breeze? (like mine)
I'm not looking for a new pair, just thought some folks would want to know if this is an option.

Did you change the shape of the Cirrus Black?

Veneering those Breeze baffles would be nearly impossible, but making the outer portion from a matching hardwood block wouldn't be out of the question.

Thanks Todd.  You can't veneer that front baffle shape, but there is something I could do.  It's called Hydrographic Printing, basically dip it in water where a film is transferred onto the material.  And there are many wood grain Hydro films available, would give the baffle a somewhat convincing wood look.  Hydro printing is used a lot in automotive applications for putting wood grain look onto interior materials.
