Tidal issues with BDP-1
« on: 30 Dec 2020, 03:33 am »
I am having issues with Tidal streaming on my BDP-1. It plays fine for a while and then starts skipping. The BDP-1 then hangs and needs to be rebooted. Everything else - USB playback, Radio Paradise lossless is fine.

Is anyone else having issues?

Note I am on the latest firmware.

Just adding to this now that Chris is back from a (well deserved) break.

Two firmware versions ago everything worked fine with Tidal on my BDP-1. The firmware release which introduced the new login process had issues which appeared to have been fixed with the latest version. However, Tidal is now unusable. It will play for a while and then will skip songs and hang. At this stage the BDP-1 becomes unresponsive and needs to be restarted.

I am assuming it is an issue with the firmware but it could be my device / network. I also appreciate that the BDP-1 is probably at the limits of what it can reliably do!

Any suggestions?
