Louis emailed me these pics of the upcoming Omega ALNICO 8" Hemp Drivers:

We'll have these drivers in the Max Hemp cabinets at the Montreal Show next month!

These are the best sounding 8" full-range drivers that I have heard! 

Louis will post more about them soon (and is having his website updated -- one of the pages will be dedicated to the drivers!).

That is a tasty looking driver - hemp cone, cast basket, AND alnico power - coupled with the woodwork, I am sure that many will be in for a wonderful treat here, for the design of the driver appears exceptional!

Many thanks Vinnie for posting and putting up the pics.

I have been working on updating the website and looks pretty much done.

The Alnico 8" drivers are shipping from the factory at the end of the month.

The drivers will fit all the Maxhemp, Superhemp. The revolution and the A8s. Compact hemp running sealed box is also great. The Maxhemp and Supers can run both.


I use them in my Supers in sealed mode.

Heard the new Alnico 8" and they are trully awesome... Was the best speaker in the Montreal FSI show. I will spare money to get a pair for sure.

alnico hemp is rated 92db/1w; the original hemp is rated 96db/1w...  this may not be the best solution for everyone?  how do these drivers work w/something like oris 200 horns?
