Headphone/Amp matching website

Some guy recently launched this website/tool"

http://www.audiobot9000.com/

Basically it tells you if a headphone amp model is able to drive certain headphones. It still needs more work, but still a good idea.

I keep waiting for "YOU PICKED THE GOLDEN MATCHUP!!!", wouldn't it be great if that site really went nuts and told you like a Synergy rating.
Then you could pick cans that really matchup awesomely with the amp you just scored on a CL find!!!
hahahaha.....seriously though there is good info there if you need it, like a price your stuff is worth if you sell.....that may be stretching it but sooner than we might think some site will say "what song would you like to hear?"- and then tell you the best equipment to hear it with, all in a specified price range you set up beforehand. Your favorite band sounds really good on this, that and this other thing!!!!
Then they will play your song on a simulation setup that will sound close to "IDEAL".

or I could be nuts........ :tempted:

Great Idea....

I would still be concerned about how the logic really works, it could give someone new the impression that an amp and set if cans would run optimally etc ....

Is it just power output matched to headphone sensitivity?

Does the logic have any other parameters like damping factor etc....

Just wondering...

But its a great effort and start for sure!!

Impossible, heck  isn't that what we have computers for!!! LOL.

40,000 operations should take only a few milliseconds of compute time.

Someone just has to write the code.... compile, test and run!

For me its nice to have a tool like this just to look at the milliwatt power ratings, impedance etch instead of trouncing all over the net.

It would be interesting if you could define say the top 3,4,5, 6?? Areas that can an impact of the  sound or performance of an headphone.

What would they be?

1. Output Impedance
2. Power
3. Noise
4. Channel Balance
5. Freq Response
6. Distortion
7. Transient response and Stability
8. Phase Response

Have an app that looks at these for the best overall set of operating specs matched to the power needed to driver a set of cans to their full output??

Dale I think when I posted before about damping factor I was really wanting to say output impedance and its affect on bass etch.... as being a possible part off the tool....

Anyway..
