Plenty of vintage fellas in STL, so you should fit right in.

Damn right!  We're ALL vintage in GAS!    :thumb:

CL?   Yep!   Interesting stuff pops up there from time-to-time.   You just missed last week's Audio Jumble, where we sell all our excess audio crap to each other.  And buy it back the next year.

Actually, it was postponed until September:

That should give you ("us") more time to buy more ol junk and sell it then.

Hi!

I was looking for an audio club in saint louis, and almost gave up looking!

Glad I found GAS.

Can you guys bring me up to speed and let me know when the next group event is?
Anything in August?

Thanks,
Kyle

Welcome Kyle!  :thumb:

Not sure to be honest. We rarely have get-to-gethers these days. Seems like the hardest part is scheduling conflicts.

Do we have a date yet for the Sept Audio Jumble?

Sept 1 - 7 works great for me.  After that, I will be on vacation and unable to meet you fine folks.

Last question for the troops here: Do we have a local member in the group that services vintage gear from the 70s and 80s?  I know about the local shops in town, but they can charge a first born.

Excellent, will do.

In the past, where have we held the audio jumbles?

Someplace with decent space I imagine.

Yip, any house will do. Some are small some are big. If you don't want a bunch of folks, you can say "I only have room for a couple, so the first ones to reply are in". You can make it a BYOB, or you can bust out a fully catered shindig complete with open bar and invite the entire forum. Your house, your rules.
Roughly, what area of STL are you in?

Bob hosts a regular get-together at his place.

His rules?  Only one guest.

Works out well for both sides, as he's a little anti-social...

Hello all,

My name is John and I am an audiophiliac.

At least that is my self-diagnosis and after a few very welcoming exchanges with Bob, I've decided to come out to the group.  I'm another one from Belleville, and as I've told Bob I don't get out nearly enough.  I would very much like to meet the guys in the group, and as I have some equipment in the works right now, I would love to be in a position to host come spring.

I've already learned an incredible amount from the AC boards, and I am trying to give back in the form of reviews and comments I've made on stuff I have had, and especially on stuff that is on its way.  I should have a lot to say on the Digital Audio Company and GR Research boards soon, which will represent some great experiences with the respective designers.  Other than that, I am afraid that my technical skills are limited, although I try to listen with clean ears :).

Thanks again Bob, for the invitation, and I hope to take part in something GAS related sometime in the near future.

John

Hi John. Some of us are record shopping on Feb 6th if you're free. I'll post info as soon as I get all the details right. Should include Euclids and Vintage Vinyl. Watch the circle for info. Thanks for joining us.
