One of my cymbals blew a fuse the other night and when I replaced it the same thing happened in about 5 seconds.  Had been working beautifully until then.  Nothing looked smoked on the interior....could this be a (JJ) rectifier tube gone bad? 
Full disclosure...a couple weeks ago I swapped speakers and accidentally had a loose connection (no load on amp) for a few seconds before I shut it down...I know there is danger of cooking the output xformer, but it worked great for the past few weeks after re-connecting.  How would I test the transformer, and could it be the culprit?

I think to eliminate the bad tube you could just power on the device without it.
But I think it might be the power supply problems (capacitors, for example).

Are you using a slow blow fuse in the amp.

All good!  Twas a rectifier gone bad and arcing.  Kinda smoked too.  Replaced the offending tube and back to great music again! 
  Fuse?  I just use the normal fuses ordered on the parts list.

BTW, what rectifier do you like in the Cymbal?
