Joseph Audio Pulsars...

I like these speakers; but, they are slightly above my price range.

What other speakers are in the same league as the Pulsars?

How about Salk HT1 if you have to have monitors or full size ht2-tl for $4200
I heard one of Joseph's older model so I think Salk has a better value as a direct sale company. 30 days to return if do not like them  :thumb:

you should listen to other JA speakers. I have the RM25xl and I think they are
an great speaker, huge soundsatge with a nice tonal balance.

Rick Craig's new little monitor is about same size as Pulsars and quite good.

Tyler Acoustics New Reference Monitor!  I have owned both the Pulsars and the New Reference Monitor and they are both Awesome.  Probably the best monitors I have owned.  As far as cost the Tyler's are the real champs!  It's a monitor that sounds like a floorstander.  The 6" Seas bass midrange is amazing the Scan Speak Revelator has never sounded so good.

Seas 6" is what the Salks use as well as a ribbon tweeter, RAAL. As of JA vs Salk-- keep in mind the dealer's expenses and a margin added to the cost.

I know what you mean.  I remember listening to these at an audio show and wishing they retailed at $3-3.5K.

I agree...   $4500 tops.  $7000 is really too high.  I think there is thread on "Why are High End prices so high?"  I will ask Tyler Acoustics to bring the Reference Monitor to the Chicago Show in March for folks to hear.

Just a point of clarification, this is for the standard finishes only.

It's not actually a show.  There hasn't been a show here in Chicago for a long time.  Maybe another thread on that.  It's more like an invitation to listen to his speakers.  He told me he has a lot of customers in the Chicago area.  Here is what I found.

I'd check out the Selah's and Tyler's too, plus the Reference 3A monitors.  For less than 7k you could be looking at some very nice 2, 2.5, and 3way towers, also.  How much are those PMC standmounts that are gathering up some awards?

The Pulsars are nice, but waaaay overpriced !  I can not recommend the Vapor Audio Cirrus enough !!!  Take a look at this thread : http://www.audiocircle.com/index.php?topic=89390.0

Also take a look at the Vapor website :  http://www.vaporsound.com/#all

Feel free to contact me with any questions, as I own and LOVE them.
