Cheeseboy

Is there anyone that has a crossover design that will upgrade the Klipsch Corner Horn and the La Scalas?  What wire would work best to wire the drivers?  Any the Tweaks?

Greg Roberts' Volti Audio (207-314-1937) has a well developed upgrade program for Klipsch speakers. Crossovers, drivers, enclosures restorations/upgrades he can take you as far down the upgrade path as you choose to go.

I did the new Crites tweeter and his crossover for my La Scalas and was very happy with the upgrades. It was not a lot of money (2009) if I remember is was around $350 or so.

I agree with Fred! I would like to point out that I have spoken with Al Klappenberger of ALK engineering on numerous occasions and it is sad that some vendors have freely copied his engineering work. That being said, he is the go to man, imho for Klipsch modifications. Fastlane Audio (Dave Harris) is also another excellent supplier of Eliptrac horn upgrades for Klipsch:

Have fun cheeseboy!

Best,

Anand.

Not being a Klipsch guy myself I don't know the two Anand and Fred suggested. I do know Greg Roberts who Norm suggested. He is a straight shooter and does good work. That gives you three good options to check out.

Have fun,

I dont think Cheesboy is looking to purchase a completed xover but instead is looking for plans to make one himself.
I dont think those mentioned above are going to share that information.

You may want ask members  over at the Klipsch forum for help.

Ok Steve - does this mean you scored some K-Horns?  :green:

I remember back in about 1980 listening to a pair of K-horns in the home of one of our Service Techs. Before I went, the other Tech was saying I was going to be in for a disappointment and get ready for the Classic "Horn" sound. I was very pleasantly surprised. I believe he was powering them with fairly heavily modified Dynaco Tubes and I liked the sound a lot. The dynamics were incredible. While there was a bit of the Horn sound, I think I could ahve learned to live with them - especially if I wanted to listen at Concert levels!

Hey Steve

What crossovers do you have now?  Upgrading the AK series crossovers in Khorns takes some work, as half the crossover is inside the bass bin.

One of these days I'll get a hold of some of those and see what I can do with them.
