Moth integrated amp
« on: 24 Apr 2005, 10:31 pm »
I found a moth 2A3 amp on audiogon for a very good price. It is rated at 3 watts per channel. I have Grande 8Rs. Also, I intend to get the hemp drivers if they will be a drop in replacement. I listen to a lot of Jazz from Big band to avante garde and a lot of classic and heavy rock. However, I very rarely listen at high volumes. My question to all and especially Louis is given my musical taste will I be able to drive my speakers to satisfying levels without turning the volume more than 3/4 of the way up?

Any feedback on this issue is very very welcome.

thanks
John

"I very rarely listen at loud volumes."

In that case, you should be doing fine. The 207's SPL=96db@1 watt. You likely will rarely get out of first gear with your habits. Congrats on a nice amp from the Victorian era! Very cool designs.
