My TV uses a different 240v socket from the hifi, and the earthing is not good when it is connected to my TVC.  It can cause hum and slight shocks when unplugging leads.  Would isolating transformers on the input leads be effective, and do you make any?  I am looking for a reasonably cheap option here, it is only TV!

are you using an LCD or CRT, plasma?
when i was using a CRT hookup to antenna there was a ground leakage of up to 100V. Touching the metal part would be painfull

If its this then isolating would not help with the hum but may help with the shocks

The TV is a Samsung LCD.
