I bought two of these awhile back and both arrived warped.  Is that part of the testing these records perform or was I just extremely unlucky in receiving two warped discs?

cheers,

The copy I received was quite flat. Perhaps yours were subjected to the rear of a hot truck during shipping. :(

Was the supplier willing to replace them? A warped test record can't be very accurate.

That's what I thought...not the company I purchased from's problem, they just spent several months in transit during a couple of moves I made.  Thanks for the reply...guess I'll buy another!

cheers,

Dick

I wonder if warped vinyl could be heated to a certain controlled temperature and then pressed back into a flat shape?  I got one that has a little hump at the edge and for the first song the needle skips, but the rest is fine.  You'd think if they can get warped once they could get 'unwarped'.

Yeah I'll have to organize all the good links for vinyl care and setup and put them in there.   I had planned to do some sort of organization, didn't know that was there.

Heh, it's only been there for about five minutes ;-)

Anyone can add links, I'm hoping people will add good ones by themselves.

Whoah - that is a spooky coincidence!  Guess which record I was talking about that has that hump in it?  Steely Dan - Katy Lied.  I kid you not! :o (well, not a MoFi copy though)  Interesting technique, I may have to try it.
