Patience young one

This cabinet is getting the 10" Sandwich cone btw, not the 8" C-Quenze.  Just sayin, the 8" AT woofer is amazingly well behaved.

Not my strong point, elder jedi. I think of myself as more of the impulsive Luke Skywalker type (both Star Wars and 2 Live Crew Luke Skywalkers).

I always wanted to give Luke Skywalker a wedgie ... what a dweeb

But the 2 Live version, he's alright  :thumb:

Well, we took apart the Joules today to get at the super secret guts inside and go after what we both felt was a somewhat less than perfect tonal balance.  After looking at the measurements and simulation, we decided to make a couple of part value changes to alter the mid/tweeter levels with respect to the woofer.

OH YEAH BABY, THAT'S THE TICKET!  Now we're on to something here.  These things are really coming into their own.  I felt like posting in the "best speaker you ever heard" thread after I got home.  The transparency is off the charts and the microdynamics are unreal.  On tracks we've heard dozens of times, the background ambiance took on new life.  What was once only a halo around the musicians is now a full on glow with a steady decay that can be heard even while the music continued on.  I've never heard anything like these.

Seadogs, you're in for a treat once we get these buttoned up.  WOW!!!!

Yeah, these are the best we've built ... no doubt in my mind.  They're addictive, my wife had to drag me away for dinner!

I just upped a couple new videos from this evening to the Vapor Audio YouTube channel:

I have many tripods, but they were 2 flights of stairs away.

'Understood" on both counts.

#1 - I guess my anti-social tendencies are more obvious than I thought.    :duh:
#2 - I can fully support that.

Tell ya what...next time I come over, I'll bring my tripod and we'll shoot that video again, cause it looks like hammered shit.
Andy is eager to hear your newest toys, but it'll be about two weeks.

Bob

p.s. I may need directions to your house again.

Ryan,
Will this tweaked/revised version show up at CES/T.H.E. Show in Vegas in January? (Note:  I know how tired of shows you are....but damn, these are getting my attention!).

If I'm in Vegas in January, I won't be there running a room!  We're show'd out for awhile, time to focus on filling orders.

Next show on our schedule is likely Axpona in Chicago, April I think.

Just wrapped up a couple hours of listening, whew!  Yeah, the new Joule with the Arte Forma 805's running them is not only incredible, it's the best I've ever heard!  I can honestly say what's going on in my main listening room right now is the best I've ever heard anywhere at any price.  It's going to be a sad day when I have to let them go.  Maybe someday I'll own a pair myself

Once we're finally settled on a crossover, which should be within the next week, we'll do a final set of measurements and get the website updated.

And yes, we do still think there may still be a slight room for improvement.  We're only on the second iteration, but it is really close.
