Bill,
Sorry to hear that you were under the weather - you missed a good event on Sunday.  I didn't make the Northern Cal event on Saturday but I did go to the Burning Amp shindig in San Francisco.  It was held in the firehouse in Fort Mason, which turned out to be a great location.  Acoustics were surprisingly good and people brought lots of interesting equipment.  Nelson Pass drove down from the foothills with a truckload of parts from his storeroom with instructions from his wife not to bring any of it back, so a lot of DIYers walked away with some great stuff for their next project.  And it's interesting having the chance to meet and chat with so many other audioheads and see a wide range of approaches to audio.  There were over the top triamped speakers with really expensive drivers, open baffle speakers, and full range driver speakers in tapered pipes.  Each had it's own flavor and different people liked different ones better.  You don't often get to hear all these in one place so it was rather unique.

Here are a few links to give you a flavor of the event:

And of course there's lots of discussion on the main thread over at diyaudio

Anyone here located in Northern Cal. and have the setup to measure/match output power transistors?

I would like to measure my East Bay group's pool of (same models) output devices so I can group together matched sets for our current Leach amplifier projects.

I would be willing to travel and pay $ or trade some nice DIY audio stuff (such as transformers, heat sinks, caps, cables etc.) for the priviledge of using your setup.

Please email me.

TIA

-Chas

Have you followed the burning amp thread on the pass labs forum of diyaudio.com?
That thread has quite a few bay area transistor matchers on it.
