Post by: FredT300B on 20 Feb 2011, 12:34 pm
Two companies have notified us they will be first-time exhibitors at the May 13-15, 2011 LSAF in Dallas.

PheomeNhan Audio of Frisco, Texas, is a dealer for Melody Valve HiFi and Onix Electronics Co.  Their services also include consulting and installing of home audio and video systems. http://www.phenomenhanav.com/Amplifiers.html

D-Sonic Custom Audio of Houston, Texas, is a manufacturer of monoblock, two-channel stereo, and 3-7 channel surround sound amplifiers using Bang and Olufsen class D ICEpower modules. D-Sonic amplifiers are fabricated in an ISO 9001 facility in Houston. http://www.d-sonic.net/photos.html

Very cool, Fred!

Exciting products (and well-developed product lines) from both companies.  Looking forward to seeing them, and thanks for letting us know!

(edit)  with just over a month to go and zero self promotion, discussion or interest in the event I think we need to rethink our position below.

Jeffrey and I will be there again with out antiquated toys :-)

I think we really need to get the word out there this year.  It was such a great time last year and far more fun than any other show I have been involved with.

Nhan will also be showing some new Angel City Audio speakers - also a new company and the distributor for the Melody and Onix gear.

Hate to be the one to bring this up, but is anyone coming? "Zero self-promotion" seems to be an understatement.

Last year's show was a definite step in the right direction. It would be too bad, if we can not build on that. But, if no one is planning to attend, it will certainly affect our decision.

(I hear you guys snickering, that you won't miss us, if we sit it out. That's fair! Unless you are not going, either.)

That's a good example of the kind of promotion that's needed.  Every audio chat room on the web should have an announcement along with regional audio clubs.  A poster for the show- if there is someone with those kind of skills which I do not have- could make one it could and should appear everywhere that accepts photos.  If it's at last year's hotel, breakfast is free and there is an open bar in the evening and the rooms were good to show gear.  I think Danny made the best use of space of any exhibitor I saw (looked to me like the front rooms are deeper on the north/south sides of the building).  The audio press attended last year and that was very good.  Did someone inform them?  I won't be attending the next one not that I didn't enjoy the last one but because of a lot of ongoing family related matters.  Best.  Cheers.

I'll be there with a pair of my Cirrus speakers, RAAL and AudioTechnology in a CNC cut perfectionist cabinet.  I'll be running them with either an Ekco EV55SE KT88 based tube integrated, or an Eastern Electric M88 KT88 tube integrated.  I'll also have a PC Audio server through an Eastern Electric MiniMax DAC and the new MHDT USBridge, and all hooked up using some fantastic new cables from Downsize.

Seems like the LSAF guys would want to add that to their exhibitors list, but guess they're busy with other stuff.

You are correct, sir.  And they may yet.  Sounds like a room I'd like to visit, no kidding.  Next year maybe.  Dang.

The Lone Star Audiofest (http://www.lonestaraudiofest.com) is free for all. It's all inclusive. It's a real grass root movement, probably the closest thing to an open source project we have in audio. But like all other open source stuff, the participant has to take responsibility for their own success.  The benefit you gain from this show is directly proportional to the amount of effort you put in to it.

I would like to remind all the exhibitors of this fact. Each should each take it upon themselves to promote their own rooms. They should speak to the audio press about it. They should announce their intention to attend on their websites. Everyone should take it upon themselves to do their own press releases. That's how this show works.

Many of you have support forums hosted here on AudioCircle.  I suggest you might reach out to the person running this site and ask that the Lone Star Audiofest be advertised here.  It benefits each of you.  Maybe run a banner ad.  List it in the upcoming events.

Last year, a bunch of you called me, and we welcomed you with open arms.  That welcome never went away.  You're still most welcome at LSAF and I look forward to seeing you again this year.

Lastly, remember that exhibitors should send a message to the Lone Star Audiofest email address (info@lonestaraudiofest.com) announcing your intention to attend, and perhaps send a logo and photo of the gear you plan to bring. That way, you can be added to the exhibitors list. If you don't send word, you probably won't be listed. I mean, we're not combing the web looking for people that say they might be here. Make a reservation and send an email.
