Revel is not listed among companies doing business with Klippel: https://www.klippel.de/company/references.html

Several arms of Harman are listed, so one might speculate that they can send speakers to be tested internally on the Klippel or in an anechoic chamber. Even if they are testing as regularly throughout the development process as a company with a Klippel in the building, like Ascend, the mid-bass boost is there. It's a matter of being aware of the design choice. It may be preferable if the speakers are out into the room, for example, and don't get much boundary reinforcement in the bass.

The list says "Harman International, USA" and Revel is part of Harman.

I've been a fan of Revel since their inception, having owned 5 models (M20, F30, Ultima Gem, Performa3 M105, and Concerta2 M16). Their engineering is always good, but some models just worked better than others in my rooms. FWIW, I think the Gems are a very fine small speaker.
I've recently owned the M105 in my office system for 2 years, and found them quite transparent, dynamic, with a wide and deep soundstage in the range they cover. The main shortfall was the overly forward mid treble region, which made them a little relentless. Not terrible, but it did detract from the illusion of live music some.
I got the itch to try something else

Jonbee, thank you so much for posting your thoughts on the M16's and comparing to the M105's.  I heard the M106's at AudioAdvice and had the same reaction, they're great except for that upper mid area... They just go too sharp for me.  They were the best of what they had, and I listened to everything in the bookshelf room.  I recently went back and the Revel's are all gone.  The bookshelf room is broken so I didn't get to hear much... Some small Sonus Faber's that sounded meh.

Anyway, I have a pair of S16's I used for HT until I moved recently.  They sounded 'natural' or 'honest' and smooth.  I even listened to them as a stereo pair for fun.  I thought they sounded pretty balanced. So, your review of the M16 confirms what I heard as well... and I would prefer this sound to the M106's I heard.

Right now I want to build a modest system in my next home, and the M16 keeps coming up as something I should consider.. but now I've decided I want a small floorstander.. so the F35 is on my radar.  (instead of M16's plus a sub) So I'm off to find reviews for that... :)

The F35/36 would be high on my list for medium priced floorstanders, perhaps with a sub in some rooms. The Concerta2 models are marvelously musical performers. My $18000 Avalon Opus are a better speaker in many ways, but I'm never disappointed when listening to M16s in my office. Listening to some complex Al Di Meola on them right now, and it is a joy. Very easy on the ears, yet communicative of convincing musical detail and dynamics. The compromises are very cleverly chosen.
The midbass boost on the M16 can make integration with a sub tricky. I plugged the ports in my small room.
They may be my forever small room speaker, and that is saying something.

Well, I've found a place that can let me hear some Concerta2 series vs. Elac's Vela series and I'm excited.   Joe at the Audio Exchange in Raleigh was very helpful to talk to... clearly been doing this a long time.  So, that'll be in a couple of weeks next time I visit.  Then I'll know whether that extra grand (or 2) will be worth it... or do I want to keep it simple?  Or is there something else I haven't considered?  I love a good fact finding mission. :)

I was checking out the Velas, and I see they are mating a folded planar tweeter to a cone woofer.
I've heard that type of tweeter a lot, and they can sound very fast and clean, but integration with a cone woofer is problematical.
The measurements show integration issues around the crossover point.

You might focus some on the presence area for any issues that might become a problem over the long haul.
Concerta drivers are all deep anodized (ceramic, they call it) aluminum, and have the same signature and superb integration, but they may well not be as transparent on the top end as the Vela. Always tradeoffs!

I'm coming from coax planar ribbon tweeters in Piega's so the folded planar seemed like it might be a good fit for my tastes, but I won't know till I hear it. (in a few weeks)  The Piega's have a lot right but are just too big for the 12x13 size room I'm planning to have them.  They need about 14x17 to really bloom... or a highly treated room, which I also won't have.  McIntosh amplification made the ribbons sound very nice and the amp I'll be using is also a little 'rosy' so I'm guessing it'll all work out... but we'll see!
