Connecting the BDP-1 to the BP25 DA (with DAC)
« on: 5 Feb 2023, 08:42 pm »
Dear all,
What kind of digital cable do I need to connect the BDP-1 to the BP25 DA (with DAC)?
On the one hand, the BDP-1 has two digital outputs:
1/ SPDIF (75 Ohm BNC female)
2/AES/EBU (3-pin XLR male)

On the other hand, the BP25 DA has two SPDIF digital inputs (RCA)
Thank you. I appreciate your help.

Not the best solution but there are RCA to BNC adapters available.

Thank you Ron_S.
I also found this adapter on sale: Canare BCJ-XJ-TRC XLR-F to BNC Adapter and 110-75 Ohm Transformer : https://www.amazon.com/Canare-BCJ-XJ-TRC-Adapter-110-75-Transformer/dp/B008YOD1G4
Could this be a better option?
Thanks

Hi Zigue,
The Canare adapter is unnecessary, its for converting AES/EBU (XLR) to S/PDIF (RCA or Coax) and won't help you. You need to convert the S/PDIF on Coax from the BDP-1 to the S/PDIF on RCA of the BP25 DA. Stick with the adapter I suggested.

Hi Ron_S.
I bought the adapter you suggested from amazon, and it's working great.
Thank you very much.
